The previous projection-based system, while functional for many years, no longer matched the demands of modern corporate communication. Direct-View LED Video Wall Installation for Corporate Conference Rooms
The new system uses a LG 163-inch direct-view LED video wall with a 1.8mm pixel pitch and native 1920×1080 resolution. The all-in-one DVLED display replaced both the projection screen and the ceiling-mounted projector, eliminating the projector throw and clearing the ceiling of overhead equipment.
Direct-view LED was selected for its performance advantages in a high-use corporate meeting environment. Image brightness and contrast remain consistent regardless of ambient lighting conditions. There are no lamps or alignment to maintain, and the 1.8mm pixel pitch produces a high-resolution image at typical conference room viewing distances. The 163-inch diagonal provides a large, single-surface display without the need for a separate projection screen.
The existing digital receiver was relocated to the new video wall position and reused to handle incoming AV sources. This kept the upgrade focused on the display and supporting control system updates.
Recessed Video Wall Mounting and Structural Integration
The video wall was recessed a couple of inches into the wall opening where the projection screen had been mounted. This produced a built-in appearance rather than a surface-mounted look. It also required precise coordination between the display footprint, wall structure, ventilation, and finished trim.
The direct-view LED video wall installation required detailed field measurements and accurate drawings to confirm the display would fit the existing opening with the necessary clearance for mounting and airflow. Approximately 75 to 80 percent of the heat generated by the LED panels dissipates from the front of the display, so adequate ventilation around the unit was incorporated into the design.

Control System Programming and Touch Panel Updates
The project included a Crestron control system to integrate the new video wall with the room’s existing touch panel interface. During programming, discussions with Hobby Lobby personnel identified additional opportunities to improve the system’s usability based on how the room’s operations had evolved over the years. The touch panel programming was aligned with the room’s current operational needs.
