Windows 10 End of Support and Its Impact on Microsoft Teams Rooms

MTR Room

Microsoft has officially announced that support for Windows 10 will end on October 14, 2025. This means Microsoft will no longer provide security updates, bug fixes, or technical support for devices running Windows 10 after that date.

This change has direct implications for Microsoft Teams Rooms (MTR) systems, many of which currently operate on Windows 10 IoT Enterprise.

After the End-of-Support Date

  • Teams Room systems running on Windows 10 will no longer receive critical updates, including security patches that keep your meeting environments protected.
  • Microsoft will gradually shift support, new features, and updates exclusively to Windows 11-based Teams Rooms.
  • Eventually, Teams Rooms on unsupported Windows 10 devices will be considered out of compliance, affecting performance, reliability, and potentially your Microsoft licensing agreements.
