Located in a beautifully restored downtown Austin building, Jupiter Supper Club offers an elevated dining and entertainment experience defined by precision, style, and sound. The space welcomes members and guests into four richly appointed spaces: the Bar, the Library Lounge, the Terrace restaurant, and the intimate Nova Lounge live‑music room.
To achieve an audio experience worthy of the club’s lofty aspirations, Ford AV and Meyer Sound’s design team commissioned a turnkey system that marries luxury finishes with world‑class performance.
Designing for a High-End Experience
The Jupiter Supper Club founders wanted more than background music; they envisioned a fully immersive, multi‑sensory environment where sound felt as deliberate and refined as the cuisine and décor. This required an AV solution that could:

These requirements meant integrating dozens of speakers and zones into historic architecture and programming a control system flexible enough for both non‑technical staff and professional performers.
Audio Systems Built for Atmosphere and Flexibility
Distributed Audio System: Seamless Coverage, Invisible Speakers
More than 75 flush‑mounted speakers were deployed throughout the club, each carefully selected and custom‑painted to blend with the décor. The Bar features seven ultra‑compact overhead loudspeakers that deliver clear, warm sound without drawing attention. Corridors, stairwells, and restrooms received four‑inch two‑way drivers to ensure consistent coverage from front door to back hallway. Upstairs, the Library Lounge and Terrace restaurant rely on Meyer Sound’s UP‑4Slim and ULTRA‑X22 enclosures, compact enough to disappear into ornate ceilings while filling the space with rich, detailed audio.
Control System & Zoning: Effortless Ambiance Management
To give staff control over the sprawling audio network, a Crestron CP4N processor paired with TSW‑1070‑B‑S 10″ touch panels was implemented in key locations. Bar and service personnel can select preconfigured “scenes” for brunch, dinner, or evening entertainment, instantly adjusting multiple zones to the appropriate volume, source, and EQ settings. Bluetooth input plates and Dante I/O wall interfaces in the DJ vestibule and Nova Lounge allow performers to connect without accessing the central rack, giving DJs and live acts a hassle-free way to plug in and take over the sound.
This zoning architecture keeps background music unobtrusive during dining service, then shifts to full‑band mixes when performers arrive, all via simple onscreen buttons. With on‑site training and customized documentation, even the non‑technical staff can feel confident managing complex audio scenes.
Nova Lounge: Hybrid Constellation Acoustics
The Nova Lounge is the crown jewel of Jupiter Supper Club’s AV design. Seating just thirty, the room houses one of Meyer Sound’s smallest hybrid Constellation active‑acoustics systems ever installed. Hidden microphones and twelve Ashby‑8C ceiling loudspeakers, sixteen UP‑4Slim installation units, and six MM‑10™ subwoofers feed into the NADIA‑CP processing platform.
With nine user‑selectable acoustic presets, expandable as the club’s programming evolves, the room can transform from a dry, intimate jazz parlor to a lush, reverberant environment for electronic or DJ sets.
