Fort Worth, TX

Alliance FBO at Perot Field Fort Worth Alliance Airport serves exclusive, high-profile corporate aviation clients and major package delivery companies. The terminal’s design blends luxurious finishes with amenities like private lounges, briefing rooms, and showers.
To modernize the space and reinforce its premium positioning, Hillwood engaged Ford AV as their audiovisual integrator to deliver cutting-edge direct-view LED video walls, integrated conference systems, and a facility-wide distributed audio network.
Early Planning & Collaborative Design
With site visits and 3D laser scans of the terminal shell, Ford’s engineers created a detailed model of each installation zone. This informed every decision, from selecting pixel pitches for the LED walls to determining cable routing for Dante-enabled audio.
The idea of a sweeping, curved LED wall in the lobby emerged as a way to merge form and function by welcoming guests with branded content, live departure data, and environmental visuals. Crestron touch panels centralized AV management in the conference rooms, while PTZ cameras and beamforming microphones guaranteed reliable video conferencing.
Curved LED Video Walls

The lobby’s curved direct-view LED wall became the project’s focal point. Stretching over 30 feet, it delivered flawless imagery and withstood nonstop operation. After evaluating several display technologies, the Absen Acclaim Plus modules at a 1.58 mm pixel pitch were selected for their exceptional color uniformity and high 3840 Hz refresh rate. These characteristics ensured ultra-sharp visuals and compatibility with broadcast cameras capturing terminal arrivals.
“The LED walls create an immersive experience. Enveloped by the imagery, it captures the visitor’s attention immediately, highlighting the content and messaging simply because it surrounds you.”

Draper’s Z-frame adjustable mounts allowed installers to adjust each panel in X, Y, and Z axes by up to 1/16″, compensating for any slight irregularities in the substructure. Front-access service panels permit hot-swap replacements of individual LED modules without disassembling the entire wall, essential in a facility that operates around the clock.
Adjacent to the lobby, a second curved video wall in the flight-information alcove provides real-time data integrated seamlessly into the architecture. This dual-curve approach addresses both experiential and informational needs.

Conference Room Integration & User Experience
Ford transformed four meeting spaces into versatile conference rooms. Each room features laser projectors paired with motorized screens. Crestron control panels offer a single-touch interface for source selection, volume adjustment, and lighting scenes. Beamforming microphones and 4K PTZ cameras ensure all participants, local or remote, enjoy clear audio and video. Networked via Dante audio, these systems integrate smoothly with the terminal’s broader AV ecosystem, enabling zone-based announcements or coordinated audio cues across spaces.
Hands-on training sessions covered routine system checks, source switching, and basic troubleshooting. Detailed user guides and custom-branded quick-start cards were provided in each control console, ensuring pilots, corporate clients, and terminal staff can confidently operate the AV systems.

Distributed Audio
Ambient sound plays a subtle, yet important, role in shaping the client experience. Ford upgraded the background music system to a multi-zone audio network, using ceiling speakers in lounges, hallways, and briefing areas. This approach allows facility managers to adjust playlists or announcement levels independently, catering to different occupancy patterns throughout the day.
Recognizing the need for a cohesive audio presence beyond interior spaces, landscape-rated speakers were installed along the tarmac walkway. By tying these outdoor zones into the same audio system, ground crews can broadcast arrival announcements or music that transitions travelers from inside to outside without interruption.
AV Solutions Built for Growth

The scalable nature of the infrastructure positions Alliance FBO for easy future expansion, whether adding more video walls, new meeting zones, or extending audio into additional hangars. By combining direct-view LED video walls, conference room AV systems, distributed audio networks, and control system, Alliance Airport has a robust, future-ready AV solution that elevates the terminal experience for pilots, passengers, and staff alike.
