Tournament benefits cancer research

Ford AV donates golf tournament proceeds

OKLAHOMA CITY - August 13, 2009 - Ford Audio-Video raised more than $32,000 for the University of Oklahoma Foundation Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund.

Monies raised are from Ford AV's Fifth Annual David Schultz Memorial Golf Classic which was hosted at Rose Creek Golf Course, 17031 N. May Ave., Edmond, Okla.

The 4-man scramble tournament is in memory of David Schultz, former Ford AV employee, who lost his battle with pancreatic cancer in March 2005. He began at Ford AV in 1978.

"We believe that by being involved in the tournament, we are celebrating David's life by helping raise awareness in pancreatic cancer and money for pancreatic cancer research," said Schultz' wife, Sally.

Jim Ford, president and founder of Ford AV said with money to fund this research, there is hope.

There were about 100 golf participants made up of employees and vendors, said Heather Logan, event coordinator. The tournament was in conjunction with Ford AV's 2009 Sales Training and AV Business Technology Showcase, she said. The tournament and training rotates throughout the company's seven divisions annually.
