Ford Audio-Video donates golf tournament proceeds

DENVER— August 7, 2008— Ford Audio-Video raised $37,000 for the University of Oklahoma Foundation Pancreatic Research Fund.

Monies raised are from their fourth annual David Schultz Memorial Golf Classic which was hosted at the Black Bear Golf Club, 11400 Canterberry Pkwy in Parker, CO.

Callie Cheek, sales event coordinator, said donations are still rolling in on a daily basis.
The 4-man scramble tournament is in memory of David Schultz, former Ford AV employee, who lost his battle with pancreatic cancer in March 2005. He began at Ford AV in 1978.

“The goal is to raise money that will help fund research to eliminate the suffering and imminent death that presently goes with having a diagnosis of pancreatic cancer,” said Jim Ford, founder and president of Ford AV.

“With money to fund this research, there is hope,” he said.

Cheek said there were about 100 participates and winners each received $100 gift cards. The tournament was in conjunction with Ford AV’s 2008 annual sales training.
