Ford Audio-Video Expands Service to Phoenix

PHOENIX, AZ— March 20, 2007— Ford AV installed audio-video systems in four separate theaters within the Mesa Arts Center located in downtown Mesa. The Tom and Janet Ikeda Theater, also known as the Lyric Theater, is the largest, seating 1,588 and is the perfect venue for symphony, musical theater and drama performances with a 14-speaker retractable system for reinforced and non-reinforced performances. In addition to the speaker systems, these separate installs were also completed by Ford AV in the Lyric Theater: mixing location in a control room for small productions, archival audio recording station; paging system linked to dressing rooms, backstage and production areas.

The other theater installations include: The Virginia G. Piper Repertory Theater is about half the size, seating 550, and will be used for plays and performances, as well, only with the audience closer to the performer. The Nesbitt/Elliott Playhouse, a children’s theater, will seat 200 and the 98-seat Anita Cox Farnsworth Studio Theater, or the Black Box Theater, is a configurable venue with all movable aspects to accommodate the most unique and atypical pieces.

Along with the theater installations, Ford AV installed a 48-person lecture hall. In addition, audio-video systems were installed in classrooms that include teaching tools such as, video outlets in the classrooms that allow connection to a monitor to view video feed from any performance venue. Several visual and performing arts studios that will be used for painting, jewelry, ceramics, acting, dance, music studios and much more were stalled with audio playback systems and the same video monitoring outlets.

Ford AV completed the installation in the fall of 2006. Ford AV is proud to have a part in the making of the largest arts center in the state of Arizona. The Mesa Arts Center is the only center offering comprehensive professional performing arts, visual arts and arts education programming at one campus.
