Project Management

eng-PICT0009-250-web.jpgFord AV has developed an experienced team of Project Managers that understands how to install your A/V system on time, within budget, in accordance with the plans and specifications, and to the satisfaction of our customers.

Audio/Video/Lighting projects are exciting, but after the design is complete, the work begins.  Managing the installation at the project job site is critical to the success and ultimate performance of the A/V equipment.  The dreams of the customer will be realized only if the physical installation and testing of the systems are performed to the highest standards.

Long before the installation team arrives at the job site to begin work, the Ford AV Project Manager (PM) will review every detail of the project.  To fully understand the job, the PM will hold a "Project Initiation Meeting" with engineering, assembly, PM Meet-DSC_9839[1]-250-web.jpgcontract management, purchasing, and project scheduling personnel.  The scope of work, design and architectural drawings, equipment list, and specifications will be reviewed.  Tasks and responsibilities will be assigned.

A project schedule will be established at this first meeting that includes each phase of the engineering, equipment procurement, assembly, job site installation, testing, system commissioning, and customer training.  Each project activity and task will be "man loaded" indicating the number of persons and hours required each day to install the project and meet the completion date.  The schedule will also include project "Milestones" that establish important dates used to coordinate with the customer, Architect, Consultant, General Contractor, and other installation trades working on the job site.

After the engineering drawings are complete, purchasing will order the equipment.  Inventory Control will receive and barcode each item, and place it in a secure cage while holding it for assembly, test out and shipping to the job site for installation.

Prior to Ford AV's Installation Team arriving at your job site, the PM will hold a "Pre Installation Meeting" with engineering and the Installation Team.  Your project will be reviewed with special emphasis on the procedures to be followed during the installation.  The project schedule will be reviewed and Ford AV Field Engineering personnel will be scheduled to travel to the job site to perform testing and system commissioning.  Ford AV Engineering will perform final system testing, tuning, balancing, and quality control.

After the system installation is complete, there is still work to be done.  Customer Owner-Operation Manuals will be placed in a 3-ring binder and delivered to the Customer (both paper copies and a CD-ROM are available); training will be scheduled for all customer participants who wish to attend.  System "As Built" drawings will be processed and delivered to the customer.  Upon the final completion of the project, the Service Center will take charge of your system and provide service throughout the life of the warranty period and after.

The dream of providing quality audio, video, and lighting to your company or organization is much more than buying equipment; it takes the knowledge and experience of a Project Manager directing and scheduling the work of a dedicated team from beginning to completion.

Ford AV's Project Managers do this everyday and we are ready for your project!
