eng-PICT0014-250-web.jpgFrom its beginning in 1973 Ford Audio-Video (Ford AV) was an engineering company, and with this heritage, it continues today as one of the top  technical A/V companies in the industry.  Built upon solid, proven engineering principles, each project is guided by the Ford AV engineering team.

Ford AV employs approximately thirty-five (35) engineers.  Most engineers hold a degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or Computer Science.  Other engineers hold degrees in Physics, Mechanical Engineering, and Acoustics.  Our lighting projects are designed by engineers with degrees in Technical Theater.

EASE1-250-web.gifEach new project is managed by a team of four including a project manager and a lead project engineer.  Depending upon the size and scope of the project, FAV will assign multiple engineers and field engineers to manage and execute the technical design and implemetation of fabrication and installation of the equipment.  Based upon the technology being implemented, engineers with expertise, knowledge and experience will be assigned to specific aspects of the project.  During the project, Ford AV engineers share knowledge with each other thoughout the company and use the years of experience of the entire team to bring the best engineering design and installation to the completed project.  Ford AV engineers work on each project from the first concept to the final system testing and customer training.

Ease3D-250-web.gifMost Ford AV Division offices have two or more engineers with additional engineering support for drafting and documentation.  To facilitate company wide communication, Ford AV has invested in a high capacity private MPLS wide area data network.  Engineers exchange information and work as a team among all Division offices.  Utilizing High Definition Videoconferencing, IP based voice communications, and high resolution document cameras, Ford AV engineers are capable of sharing work product throughout the company.  Ford AV also has large format engineering scanners and high output engineering CAD plotters and printers.

eng-DSC_0380-250-web.jpgFord AV routinely invests in the knowledge base of its engineering group through annual continuing education and industry sponsored training events.  Many engineers have CTS certifications from InfoComm and have attended industry educational training provided by NSCA and Syn-Aud-Con.  In addition to providing leading edge test equipment for its engineers and technicians, Ford AV invests in high performance computers and industry leading software including EASE, SMAART, and LEAP.  Ford AV is a corporate sponsor of AIA, InfoComm, NSCA (National Systems Contractors Association), Syn-Aud-Con, and the U.S. Green Building Council.

Mr. Ford takes pride in being an engineer and strives to provide a work environment where Ford AV engineers can excel in their chosen field of technology.  Mr. Ford holds a degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE, University of Oklahoma-1969) and is a Professional Registered Engineer licensed in Oklahoma, Texas, and Colorado.  Mr. Ford is a member of the Audio Engineering Society (AES, 1972), the Acoustical Society of America (ASA, 1973), and the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP, 1965).

Engineering is our heritage!
