2009 OKC AV Business Technology Showcase   Details and Registration

This showcase will provide business managers the opportunity to view the latest professional audio/video products and speak directly with manufacturers' representatives in a trade show type setting. Austin Sound Mixing Level I   Details and Registration

This seminar is specifically designed for church sound operators and presents basic information on how sound mixing consoles operate, set up procedures, and mixing techniques. Topics include the equalization and panning of vocals, choir, and instruments, the use of compressors, reverb and special effects, the use of sub groups and auxiliary sends, and the set up of multi-channel mixing consoles. The seminar is divided into a morning and afternoon sessions. The morning session provides training on how mixing consoles are designed and how each section of the console functions. General information on how "sound travels" and the science of sound is provided. Topics will include gain structure and settings, equalization, subgrouping, soloing, muting, and auxillary sends. The afternoon session includes "hands on" operation of the mixer under the guidance of an instructor. In this session the class will be divided into groups, each with an instructor and mixing console and support equipment. Registration begins at 8:00 AM and a continental breakfast will be served. One Day: Saturday, November 7, 2009

This seminar will train intermediate and advanced sound operators to create quality sound for every worship service or special event. During the 7-hour session, the attendee will learn advanced techniques used to operate the sound mixing console and accessories. Concepts will be taught in a classroom setting, and then practiced with hands-on training with a certified trainer. Topics to include: equalization of vocals, choir and instruments; how to use reverb and special effects; proper use of sub groups, auxiliary sends and inserts; how and when to use compressors, limiters and gates; types of microphones and how and when to use them; and much more.
